Apple refunds excess charges for Lion downloads
Apple on Saturday began reversing some of the excess charges it accidentally applied to some Lion buyers. Both John Christman, the highlight example who was charged $3,878 more than the single copy he intended to download, as well as others, have said Apple would have the money back in their accounts within three to five days. Apple spreads 90-second iTunes previews worldwide
Apple in the past day has quietly expanded its 90-second iTunes previews outside the US. At least Australia and New Zealand, Canada, and some parts of Europe are now seeing the same tripled size for audio samples as had first rolled out in the US in December. Court: Personal Audio can’t double-dip on Apple lawsuits
Texas district Judge Ron Clark on Friday dismissed Personal Audio’s attempts to sue Apple again over its audio player patent. He determined that Apple’s $8 million in damages amounted to a “fully paid up license” not just for the iPod but also for the iPad, iPhone, and Mac. In an opinion, Judge Clark said it had been Personal Audio’s responsibility to show how much it deserved in damages and that, if it had wanted to try for more, it could have been more specific during the trial… Continue reading
