Starbucks takes Amazon’s cue, gives free iPhone app a week

Starbucks came full circle with Apple early this week after it started offering free apps to iPhone owners. Kagi offers unauthorized VisualHub updater for Lion

Kagi, the former payment processor for the video-converter software VisualHub, has opted to market a $5 “Lion upgrader” kit called vHub Updater that offers a polished installer for the original developer’s own free patches to the program — without permission or payment, says the original developer, Tyler Loch. Dell lowers expectations for year as PC sales flatten out

Dell on Tuesday epitomized the tough conditions for Windows PC builders with flat results and a poor outlook. Its overall revenue, as well as its home and large business PC revenues, were up just one percent over a year earlier. While its net income was up 60 percent to just over $1 billion, the company warned that its summer performance would be flat and lowered its growth expectations for the whole year, down from five to nine percent to just one to five percent…. Apple posts Mac OS X 10.7.1 to fix Wi-Fi, video problems

Apple has released Mac OS X 10.7.1, its first major update for Lion. The patch solves a collection of bugs, including reported trouble with Wi-Fi connections. Delta starts testing iPads with pilots

Delta Air Lines is now using 22 iPads as part of a test to communicate with its pilots. The tablets are uses as electronic flight bags (EFBs) during trips, with all loaded with an identical software suite that can be further customized with other apps.
