WTO rules China is violating trade laws with rare earth ban
The World Trade Organisation has now concluded its investigation of China’s self-imposed rare earth export restrictions. The ruling has decided against China, and will push it to change policies. The panel ruled that China violated global trade laws by artificially restricting exports of ram materials such as bauxite, coke, magnesium, manganese, and zinc, thus cutting supply and unfairly giving its own companies an unfair advantage…. Apple claim of system failure may signal AppleCare issues

ITC tosses Barnes & Noble antitrust claims versus Microsoft
The International Trade Commission gave an initial ruling Tuesday that Barnes & Noble couldn’t bring its antitrust claims against Microsoft. An Administrative Law Judge granted Microsoft’s motion to dismiss the claims that it was abusing patents to try and squeeze Android out of the market. Details of the full ruling were still unpublished, but the Office of Unfair Import Investigations had already hinted that Barnes & Noble wasn’t passing legal muster on issues such as licensing, which isn’t compulsory for Microsoft…. Amazon triples Kindle sales at cost of 58% profit drop
Amazon posted results Tuesday that outlined the costs of pushing the Kindle Fire. The online shop’s Kindle device sales almost tripled, at about 177 percent over the past year.
