RIM claims to ETSI that Apple is ‘cheating’ on nano-SIM vote
RIM made accusations in a letter (below) late Wednesday that Apple was unfairly trying to stack the upcoming ETSI vote on the new nano-SIM format. The BlackBerry maker alleged that Apple was having staff vote by proxy, presumably to inflate support for Apple’s definition of how the card would look. Apple updates iPhoto, Adobe posts Lightroom 4.1 RC1
Apple and Adobe both chose Thursday to offer minor updates to each company’s most well-known photo-management programs. Apple has boosted iPhoto to v9.2.3, addressing a specific multiple-user bug and overall stability, while Adobe has issued the first Release Candidate of Lightroom 4.1, which fixes a number of issues including possible lost book layouts, performance in certain situations, and properly opening external apps for further editing…. Google may directly sell, subsidize Android tablets
Google is expecting to start selling Android tablets directly, sources claimed Thursday night. It would run an online store that would carry third-party devices from companies like ASUS and Samsung, the Wall Street Journal said. Some of these would be Google co-branded, but that was a reference to regular third-party devices that had met the terms for the branding and not part of an official Google-designed tablet…. RIM claims Apple using proxy votes to win nano-SIM standard

Digital magazine sales double in 2011; print still dominates
Digital magazine circulation has reportedly doubled in the second half of 2011, reaching 3.29 million from 1.46 million in the same period in 2010, according to data collected by trade group Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC).
