Apple updates Final Cut Pro, Motion with performance fixes
Apple this evening pushed up minor updates to both Final Cut Pro and Motion, two components of its professional video-editing suite. Both are considered small updates designed to improve stability and performance and do not introduce new features, though the Final Cut update does enhance performance of multicam syncing and editing, and adds Simplified Chinese support. Motion gets performance improvements as well, but the update is mostly bug fixes…. Continue reading
Google remakes its web-based Chrome OS to look more like Windows
Google’s experiment to replace Microsoft Windows on low end PCs and netbooks with its own web browser-based Chrome OS has failed, resulting in an effort to make the product look more like a conventional desktop. Continue reading

Apple, Google, Amazon accused of dodging some UK taxes
British tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail has accused several leading technology companies, including Apple, of dodging their fair share of UK taxes by setting up operations only in parts of that nation that offer lower-than-average tax rates. The charges were triggered by an investigation of online retailer Amazon, which switched its European headquarters to Luxembourg and ended up not paying a penny in British corporation tax for the past two years…. Micron intros mSATA SSDs for ultrathin notebooks
