WWDC 2012 Banners: "Where great ideas go on to do great things."

Apple has already started decorating Moscone with banners in preparation for WWDC 2012. The first banners show a collage of app icons and the wording: “WWDC2012: Where great ideas go on to do great things.” The annual developer’s conference kicks off on Monday with a Keynote Address. Apple updates MainStage live app to version 2.2.2

Apple has updated it’s live performance virtual-instrument and sound effects app MainStage to version 2.2.2, fixing some 14 issues mostly related to stability and compatibility along with general program issues. The update improves compatibility with the VAX-77 keyboard, and resolves a patch issue where patch lists weren’t updated to VAX and Axiom keyboards if the keyboard lost and then regained connection after launching the program…. Poll: Nearly three out of four consumers want an iPad

A new study out from ChangeWave Research holds good news for Apple and, and troubling news for other tablet makers. The iPad remains the overwhelming favorite among consumers, with nearly three out of four survey respondents indicating that they prefer Apple’s tablet, while no other manufacturer manages to hit double digits. The report’s findings are especially bad for Amazon, as they suggest that the Kindle Fire’s sales plummet earlier this year was commensurate with a decline in consumer interest…. Continue reading

Mophie Juice Pack Pro rugged iPhone 4 case unveiled

Mophie announced its largest battery case compatible with the iPhone 4 and 4S — the Juice Pack Pro. The case has been tested against military specification MIL-STD 810G, and boasts a 2,500 mAh capacity lithium-ion polymer battery. The polycarbonate and silicone case increases the dimensions of the iPhone to 5.26 inches long, 2.78 inches wide, and 1.02 inches thick — more than three times as thick as a stock iPhone 4. Mac Pro to Finally See Updates Next Week

Shortly after word that Apple had pulled Mac Pro stock from their retail stores, 9to5Mac has been able to track down new retail part numbers for Mac Pro updates that they believe to be due next week. MD770LL/A – K5BPLUS,BETTER, BTR-USA MD771LL/A – K5BPLUS,BEST,BTR-USA MD772LL/A – K5BPLUS,ULTIMATE,BTR-USA Pricing is said to be “similar to current Mac Pro models”. The new models come in three configurations: two standard versions and a third with OS X Server. We had long been tracking the possible Intel chips that could find their way into the new Mac Pros. It wasn’t until March, 2012 that Intel had released new Xeon E5 chips that Apple could use to upgrade their long-stagnant professional tower. The Mac Pro was last updated almost two years ago in July 2010. Apple had been said to be questioning the future of the Mac Pro line, given diminishing market appeal for the processional tower. Apple will be holding the Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) next week and is rumored to be making other Mac hardware introductions. Continue reading
