Internet Explorer shows signs of recovering web share
New NetApplications data has shown that Internet Explorer might be on a sustained, if slight, recovery in web share. Microsoft cuts German link in protest over Motorola
Microsoft in a retaliatory move against Motorola ended teamwork with Germany company Arvato for software distribution. The move reported by Germany’s Deutsche Presse-Agentur would see about 50 people lose their jobs as Microsoft relocated distribution to the Netherlands. Rumor has new iMacs using anti-reflective glass from G-Tech
Updated iMacs may use anti-reflective technology from Taiwanese supplier G-Tech Optoelectronics, according to DigiTimes. A new report cites “industry sources” as indicating that G-Tech will “supply AR (anti-reflective) glass solutions for Apple’s all-in-one (AIO) PCs.” Current-generation iMacs use purely glossy screens, which can potentially create problems in rooms with bright lighting. “Antiglare” options are only available on some custom MacBook orders…. Garmin dips into in-car GPS and media with Suzuki
Garmin branched out into in-car GPS and media systems for the first time Monday through a deal with Suzuki. “Most” 2013 model year Suzuki cars will get a 6.1-inch touchscreen interface that both covers the prerequisite GPS navigation as well as support for playing back from phones and iPods through USB, the aux-in jack, or Bluetooth. The system supports voice control to keep hands on the wheel, and smartphone links that include Pandora radio access for iPhone users and broader tools for gas, parking, traffic, and weather drawn from Android phones….
