Electronic Arts throwing kill switch on iOS Rock Band [U]
Update: Electronic Arts has now issued a statement saying that “Rock Band for iOS will remain live — the in-app message users received yesterday were sent in error. We apologize for the confusion this caused,” and added that it will share additional information “as soon as possible.” EA had in fact put up a notice on its website that it was suspending support of Rock Band as of May 31st, and users received a message that the game would no longer be playable (see picture, below). iHome and Disney have teamed up to create a new line of speakers and headphones. News: Google+ app adds search, new icon
Google has released an update to the iOS app for its Google+ social networking service adding integrated search and full-resolution photo support. A search bar now appears at the top of the main menu allowing users to search for posts on Google+ directly from within the app, and photos posted from within the app are now uploaded in their original resolution. Find My Mac Goes Live For Developers
Find My Mac has gone live for developers beta testing Apple’s iCloud service. Find My Mac was officially added to Lion in Developer Preview 4, released after WWDC in June, though evidence of the feature had leaked in prior releases. Find My Mac is very similar to Find My iPhone, only because the Mac has no GPS functionality, it seems likely the feature relies solely on nearby Wi-Fi networks to determine the computer’s location.
