Personal finance software CheckBook gains new syncing feature
Splasm Software updated both the Standard and Pro versions of its personal finance management software, CheckBook. New to this latest release is support for syncing and merging data with users on other Macs. Anyone who purchases the software from the Mac App Store will be able to synchronize data directly to iCloud, while all other users can sync data across a local network. Rain continues to cause problems at Fifth Avenue Apple Store
Rain is again seeping into the underground store of Apple’s iconic Fifth Avenue NYC store, disrupting operations as staff move electronics out of harm’s way and move receptacles to catch leaking water coming into the store. Recent heavy rains early in May damaged the store, flooding the below-ground level after a slow leak turned into a full-fledged pouring incursion. The problem is thought to be a drainage issue…. Box aquires Folders, plans to integrate into own iOS cloud storage app
Enterprise-oriented cloud storage firm Box has acquired Folders, an iOS app used to manage files from cloud storage services. The purchase, for an undisclosed amount, will see the technology behind the app rolled into Box’s own iOS app, with Folders developer Martin Destagnol being drafted in to help with its integration…. Apple Confirms WWDC Keynote Presentation Will Be Monday June 10th
In an unsurprising announcement, Apple has confirmed that the keynote address for the Worldwide Developers Conference will be at the Moscone Center on June 10, the first day of the conference. The company did not disclose any speakers or agenda, but Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to take the stage with other Apple executives to present new versions of both OS X and the iOS operating systems. Prior WWDC keynotes have started at 10 AM Pacific time. Tickets for the 2013 WWDC sold out in two minutes this year, an all-time record for the event. Continue reading

Watson technology being adopted for customer service, data mining
Starting this year, IBM’s Watson intelligent agent technology will debut as a customer service assistant. Customers of Australia’s ANZ Bank, Celcom, The Royal Bank of Canada, and Nielsen can query the system for general questions related to accounts with the companies. IBM claims to have the technology ready for deployment and integrated into consumer apps for computers and smartphones in the second half of 2013…. Continue reading
