Apple secures patent for button overlay on multi-touch displays

Apple has won a US patent on an accessory that adds tactile buttons to the display of a multi-touch device. AppleInsider notes that the accessory would use suction to stick to a screen, and feature buttons that deform and spring back as they’re pushed. To actually register touch input, tiny rubber or metal pucks might be embedded into the buttons. Some buttons could be used as finger rests, and Apple also suggests that the patent could be applied to a joystick….         Continue reading

Apple starts in-store iPhone 5 display replacements for $149

Apple is now offering the option to have an iPhone 5 display replaced at an Apple Store for $149, says MacRumors. The service costs the same with or without AppleCare+. It may be most important for people without the plan, though, who otherwise have to pay $229 to have a non-defective iPhone replaced. Tim Cook coffee meet auction ends with $610,000 bid

A charity auction for a coffee meetup with Apple CEO Tim Cook has come to a close. The initial goal of the auction, supporting the Robert F. iTunes streaming new David Bowie album through March 12th

iTunes 11.0.2 adds Composers view, improves responsiveness
